Murphy's Law...With a Pinch of Insanity.

So I went a wee bit crazy last night...

But we'll get to that.

As you know, I've been working night shifts a lot lately, and as a result, my schedule has shifted.  I think that's the best word for it, because now I have Breakfast at Noon, Lunch at 5pm, and dinner somewhere around 11-Midnightish.  Then I go to bed around 3am, whether I worked or not.  The problem arises because I still have to wake up early and get stuff done during the day a lot of the time.

So the prelude to my insanity started Wednesday night.  I didn't have work, but I still found myself up until 3:30.  Then I had to wake up at 6:30am on Thursday to run errands and whatnot.  So I did all that stuff, then had work Thursday night.  While at work, I had to find someone to switch work with on Friday, because the rehearsal I had for the film I'm shooting that I thought worked with my work schedule turned out not to.

Long story short, I did find someone to switch with, which meant that my Friday now looked like this:

8pm(thurs)-3:30am(fri): work
5:30am-11am: sleep
2pm-5pm: rehearsal
6:30pm-12:30am: work
1:30am: get home and get ready for film shoot Saturday Morning.

Now an important thing to keep in mind with this timeline is that I left my phone charger at work Thursday night.

When I got back to work on Friday Night, it was no longer there.

I decided to turn my phone off to save the battery, but when I got off work, I discovered (to my chagrine) that it had turned itself back on, and the battery was now at 0%.  Huzzah!

So I got back home, and this is where things got interesting.  So I had to put together my potential outfits for my film shoot (my call was at 8:30am).  I also had to figure out how I was going to wake up because I usually use the alarm on my phone.  I also had to figure out where I was going to sleep, because my roomie is out of town for the weekend and had to take his foam pads (otherwise known as my bed) with him.  I decided on the couch.

As if this wasn't enough, I realized that my laptop battery had completely died, so if I wanted to go into the other room to print out a map of where I was going, I needed to turn my computer off first, before I could move it.

This is when I started losing it.  I was literally just walking around my apartment holding my head and talking to myself (debating whether or not I should go to sleep for fear of not waking up on time).  It got to a point where I just kept walking into my room, turning around because I realized I didn't need to go in there for everything, walking out, forgetting where I DID need to go, and walking back into my room, only to repeat the whole process several more times.

In the end, though, everything did work out, and I did get to the shoot on time.

The only problem is, when I got home tonight I was so tired that I went to sleep at 9:30.

But I'm so used to only getting 4 or 5 hours of sleep, that I woke up at 1:30am.  So here we are.  I have no idea whether or not this story is interesting or engaging at all.  I think it was funnier when I told it in real life.  But guess what?  I don't care.  This is my blog.  If you want funny or compelling entries, go start your own (p.s. I'm horrible at marketing).
