A Small Step for Riko...

Hey there! Hi there! Ho there!

So as some of you probably already know via the Electronic Book of Faces, I had my first paid acting gig last Thursday.  Whoa!  Holy Crapola!  That happened so quickly!  How did you become so amazing?  Whoa whoa whoa.  Calm down there.  Now granted, I am pretty amazing, but let's get our facts straight first.  This was just an extra part (sorry, background actor.  I'm a valuable member of this team!).

I got the part through Central Casting, which my loyal readers  will remember I registered with a few weeks ago and have been trying to find time to actually score a gig through them. So this was a pretty exciting first for me.  I was on the set of a real, legit production, with Trailers and Craft Services and Food Trucks in all their glory.  Unfortunately I didn't have any lines, but I was kinda almost a featured extra (not in the sense that I made more money, or was technically featured in the scene, but in the sense that I was not just a face in a huge crowd of people).  I was the only other person in the scene other than the main actors.  And I was actually on a stage, which I think was a nice symbolic way for me to make the transition from Theatre to Film.  At least that's what I've been telling my body pillow before I go to sleep at night.

Annnyhoo, I'm not sure what exactly I can tell you about the show I was on, because they're kinda strict about not leaking info about future projects.  A girl got fired for tweeting/facebooking about some famous person she met on set, but she inadvertently gave away a major plot point for the next season of the show.  Wah-wah.  So we won't be going into details here.  What I do think I can tell you is that I was working on one of Hulu's new original shows, so that's exciting.  I don't know when it's going to start airing, but probably not for awhile, because they still have a couple of weeks of shooting left, and then all of their post-production stuff.  But as soon as I have more Info, I'll definitely pass it along to you fine folkses.

In addition to that, I was playing the part of Jewish Schoolteacher.  So there you have it, Pete Foster.  I really am the Jew now.  And it's nice to know that it's not just vaguely racist Aussies who think I look Jewish, but also the Hollywood elite.  So that's cool.  I should give Woody Allen a call.  See if he wants to do lunch.
