One Fantabulous Day

It's always a nice feeling when you're talking online to someone, and you say you have go, and once you've said goodbye, they immediately sign off.  Like they had stayed online just to talk to you a little bit longer.

So I was writing a blog post Saturday night about being in LA for a month, and looking back on it, it was pretty angry.  I'm not sure what exactly possessed me to write it, but in a way, I'm glad I did.  I'm not going to post it immediately, but I still agree with a lot of the things I wrote.  It was good for me to get some stuff off my chest.

However, I am in a great mood after today, and I don't want to be a downer to all y'all (plural of y'all).  I think maybe it was being cooped up inside with nothing to do all day every day that was driving me a little stir crazy, but I'm feeling a lot better now.  The Crystal Symphony was in port today, which meant I got to hang out with my friend Zoe (she likes it if you call her Zoltron).

So after staying up to the wee hours of the morn playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance II with my pseudo-roommie, Adam, I arose bright and early at 7:30 to drive down to the port to pick up the Zoester.  We proceeded to drive down the PCH past Santa Monica to the Topanga State Park for a glorious 4-hour hike up in the hills of Slightly-to-the-left-of-West-Hollywood.  Something about getting out in nature and not having to hear the drone of traffic really woke me up.  After living on a couch for four weeks and still not having a job, I think I had been getting kinda down, even if I didn't realize it.

I'm so glad that I made the trek out here, and although I knew it would be tough, it's still a shock to find out that you can't even get the car into first gear.  But being able to get out in the fresh air and walk until my feet and legs cried out in pain gave me a good perspective on things.  It may be slow going now, but I've got all the time in the world.  I'm in a good place right now, and I realize that things will happen in their due course.

I hope that makes sense.  If you find a post similar in subject, yet very different in tone to this one in the future, hopefully it will all come together for you.

  2. Thanks, it's good to hear that from someone farther along in the process. How would you feel about me piggybacking on your success a bit?
